The incident took place in Bridgeport around 10 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31.

According to Capt. Kevin Gilleran, of the Bridgeport Police, Bridgeport Hospital contacted the department to report a party with a gunshot wound was dropped off via private vehicle at their emergency room.

The Bridgeport Police Detective Bureau responded and took charge of the investigation.

The victim, identified as a 24-year-old Bridgeport man, was suffering from gunshot wounds to his shoulder, neck, and left leg. Officers were unable to locate a crime scene in Bridgeport, Gilleran said.

The victim’s girlfriend, 26-year-old Dymond Langley of Bridgeport, and her vehicle were also present at the hospital.

The vehicle, a white Subaru, was found to be unregistered and uninsured. The vehicle was towed from the scene. During an inventory search of the vehicle, patrol officers located a loaded Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol with an extended high-capacity magazine in the back seat, Gilleran said.

Langley was placed under arrest and charged with:

  • Improper storage of a firearm
  • Illegal transfer of a firearm
  • Illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine
  • Illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle

In addition, she was charged with numerous traffic infractions.

She was held on a $25,000 bond.

Langley has a valid pistol permit which will be processed for revocation, Gilleran said.

Initial reports indicate this shooting may have taken place in New Haven, he added. Bridgeport detectives are in communication with the New Haven police but were unable to make a connection at this time.
